Part-time Finance and Business Operations Manager

It’s Kingswood Groups turn to recruit for their own team! We are looking to expand our internal team to recruit an experienced Finance and Business Operations Manager on a part time, permanent basis. 

This newly created role will report to the Managing Director and play a key role in ensuring the companies finances and business operations run efficiently. You will need to be located in Essex to meet regularly in Chelmsford and/or Colchester. Hours will ideally be 15-25 hours per week, ideally spread over 4-5 days. There is a hybrid working arrangement in place for the business, you will be based from home but expected to travel to meet with the relevant team when required. 

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Raising invoices, creating repeat invoices, chasing unpaid invoices using Xero
  • Bank reconciliation and direct debits
  • Ensuring VAT is attributed correctly on invoices for quarterly VAT returns
  • Generating key financial reports, identifying areas to discuss with MD
  • Provide administrative support to the MD when required
  • Creation and development of MS Office documents including Excel when required
  • Preparing and circulating agendas and meeting materials
  • When required attend networking/corporate events – sometimes outside of core hours
  • Managing compliance of internal team and candidates 
  • Draft payroll for internal team and support management of payroll for temp candidates with external parties

Keys skills, experience and behaviours required:

  • Part qualified or AAT Accountancy qualifications
  • Experience working in a similar level role 
  • Experience operating in a recruitment business highly desirable
  • A ‘can do’ and solutions focussed, proactive approach to work
  • Ability to work autonomously and show initiative
  • Good team player with a flexible approach to work
  • A strong understanding of financial reports and ability to analyse and report
  • Experience of Xero (essential)
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
