This workplace investigation skills course is suitable for anyone with responsibility for managing disciplinary or grievance investigations in the workplace, such as HR, employee relations specialists, managers, and supervisors.

What are the benefits of attending the course?

The course introduces the Acas statutory Code of Practice on disciplinary and grievance procedures and the importance of conducting thorough, prompt, fair and consistent investigations that can be relied upon when managing disciplinary and grievance procedures in the workplace.

What will the delegates get from the course?

Delegates will gain experience, knowledge and understanding regarding the value of conducting through and fair investigations into allegations of workplace misconduct or grievance claims. They will have learned what is needed to lead and conduct robust investigations effectively and efficiently.

Gain a deeper understanding and awareness of equality, diversity and inclusion and how it impacts in the workplace
Know the nine protected characteristics within the Equality Act 2010
Know the difference between the different types of discrimination including bullying, harassment, and victimisation and how to take steps to avoid discriminatory behaviour, language or actions
Know how to recognise and challenge theirs and others unconscious bias and how unconscious biases impact on equality, diversity and inclusion
Know how to build a workplace that is EDI positive with an aim to developing an EDI Good Practice at Work guide.

Location

Either on client’s own premises or at an off-site location.

Methodology

The workplace investigation skills training is practical and interactive. It is delivered through a mixture of methods and involves delegates in group exercises and discussions. There is an opportunity to undertake skills practice sessions during the course to apply learning in a safe training environment.
